On 1 July 2026, new ACMA regulations were introduced in Australia, requiring organisations, who are SMS senders, to register sender IDs. For Salestrekker that applies to any 'short code' such as 'STVERIFY' or 'STUPDATE'.
We registered 'STVERIFY' earlier in the year and are in process of registering 'STUPDATE'. Unregistered shortcodes will result in SMS displaying as 'unverified'.
However, telcos (eg Telstra, Optus, Vodafone) have also applied this to phone number SMS's forwarded by third parties (Salestrekker sending SMS on behalf of broker, using broker's phone number). There is no viable method of registering numbers or names belonging to other businesses, resulting in no current solution for this issue.
In our view, SMS as a mass communication mean is not a viable option going forward. We will continue to offer SMS as a mean updating Salestrekker users, and our users can still update their clients via a SMS. However user's phone number will not display on the client's phone.

To send an SMS to a contact from a deal you simply click on the 3 dots next to the contact's name and from the menu select the SMS option:
After you have selected the SMS option you will be able to select a Message template and edit the Content of the SMS.
Once you are done with the editing click on the Send button and the SMS will be sent to that contact:
All sent SMS will be recorded as a deal note.
