Bankstatements.com.au is a service completely independent of Salestrekker that provides a link to the banks for easy extraction of up to 6 months of the original bank PDFs, latest transaction list and the summary of income and expenses.

How to set up

Firstly, if you don't have an existing account with Illion, go to their site and sign up.

Bankstatements.com.au will provide you with a link containing a 4-character code (for example: https://bankstatements .com .au/r/b/XXXX < the last 4 digits in the URL link will be your code).

With an account that has Multiple brokers there may be 8 characters instead of 4 at the end of the link (for example: https://bankstatements .com .au/r/b/XXXX-XXXX).

Once you have the link and the code, go to Settings > Integration > 3rd party integrations.

Turn on the toggle next to Bankstatements by Illion on the list for 'Personal integrations with 3rd party applications'.

Next, enter your Bankstatements code and click the 'Save' button to confirm activation.

In case your account with Bankstatements by Illion supports Multibank option, be sure to turn it on while activating the integration.

How to use

1. Sending an email request

In deal view, click on the "Email Bank Statements link" button and in the popup select to which contacts will the request be sent to and click Save.

A note will be added to a deal indicating that the request was sent.

NOTE: Bankstatements requests are valid for 5 days (120 hours) from sending.

If client couldn't complete the request in this time, please send them a new one.

2. Client actions

Client receives an email from the deal owner:

Client then follows the standard bankstatements.com.au process.

3. System updates

Once the statements are completed, PDFs are saved in deal, expenses are mapped in Client Profile and further information is saved in the compliance tab of Broker Tools.

Bank statement PDFs and a summary document are saved in deal under documents:

Expense mapping:

Expenses households should be added prior to requesting Bankstatements from clients.

Please note that the amounts for each item in the household categories will not be populated when clients complete the request. Instead, only the 'Comments' section will be filled in with details on each expense.

The idea is that broker discusses expenses once mapped and make any corrections necessary.

Other relevant information (income, loan repayments, defaults, etc) collected from bank statements is summarised in the compliance tab in Broker Tools:

How to request Bank Statements through Client portal

First thing that needs to be set is the Flow template (Settings > Client portal) and make sure that Bank Statements is ticked there.

Then when inviting client to client portal make sure that you select the flow template which has bank statements ticked. When clients login to the portal, they will have an option to complete bank statements.
