Adding Custom Stages to Inherited Workflows

How to add and reorder custom stages in inherited workflows

Updated this week

Workflows set by parent organisation will be inherited to all child organisations in their organisational structure. For example if aggregator sets a workflows these will be visible in all child organisations. These workflows generally cannot be deleted or modified.

However, users in child organisations can add own stages in their child organisation.

Workflow stages are ordered numerically by field 'Weight" as follows:

  • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...

  • 10, 20, 30, 40, 50...

  • 100, 200, 300, 400, 500...

To sort the stage as per own needs, the inherited workflow needs to be sorted as:

  • 10, 20, 30, 40, 50...

  • 100, 200, 300, 400, 500...

If the inherited workflow ordering is set as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... please contact your aggregator or parent organisation administrator to modify their workflow weight sorting in larger numbers, allowing custom stages in between these 'weights'.

In this example, two custom stages are placed between 600 and 700 (weight = 650) as well as 800 and 900 (weight = 850).

The only limit to a number of stages inserted is in the number of integers available between inherited stage weight numbers.
